Montreal International Airport – Glass roof

STRUCTURAL GLASS
For the expansion of the Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau Airport in Montreal, the new U.S.Terminal includes a glass top over the future train station. The proximity of the control tower and the possibility of falling ice on the roof necessitated specially developed tests, such as shooting ice projectiles at the glass panels so as to determine the optimum composition of the glass. CPA coordinated these tests which were performed by the glass products manufacturer Prelco.
